Yellowstone National Park is absolutely amazing. There are few places in North America where you can see such diverse landscapes and get so close to so many magnificent wild animals as you can in Yellowstone.
I shot this towards the end of the day. The elk bull was resting in the tall grass after a tiring day of watching and defending his does, who can be seen grazing peacefully in the background. The golden light that was falling over the landscape gave the whole scene a magical quality. The late afternoon air was getting cooler, and a sense of calm settled over the valley. I was all alone, just me and these majestic animals. I wanted this moment to last forever.
